Monad HackathonConsumer Products & Payments

Go-to-
market.

Who tries WillFolks first, how they find it, what we need to learn before scaling, and how the product makes money without profiting from anyone failing.

We do not profit from users failing: a stake is only ever locked, never kept.

First users

People who already hold USDC and use wallets: Monad and EVM builder communities. They can try the product today, give honest feedback, and understand a commitment contract instantly.

We treat them as early adopters, not the mass market. Mainstream users will be validated separately with a small-deposit or fiat flow.

How they find us

Building in public from day 0: a weekly update with a short clip and a link to the code, one technical post per week, and showing up in builder Discords and Telegram groups to be useful before asking for anything.

A seven-day open challenge with testnet USDC gives the community a reason to try it together.

What we will learn first

The real risk is not interest but adoption and retention: people often sign up for commitment tools and then drop them. We write the success thresholds down beforehand and change segment or message if we miss them.

  1. Step 01

    15–20 interviews

    Problem interviews before building more.

  2. Step 02

    Waitlist A/B

    A waitlist testing two messages.

  3. Step 03

    Two-week pilot

10 to 15 people staking real goals.

  4. Step 04

    Closed beta

20 to 50 users, with the numbers published.

Why people stay

Friends can act as judges, there is a pet that reacts to progress, and a home-screen widget keeps the stake in view.

The money is never lost, only locked, which lowers the fear of starting.

Business model

Revenue is planned from three places tied to money moving through the product, so our income grows with the money users commit, not with their mistakes.

  • Exchange spread

A small margin when users convert local currency to USDC and back, so people can enter and leave without touching crypto.

  • Deposit fees

A small, visible fee on deposits, whether they arrive in crypto or through a local payment method.

  • Share of the yield

While a stake is locked it can earn yield; the user keeps most of it and we take a percentage.

Later, challenges for communities and teams and a verification service other apps can pay for add revenue that does not depend on user balances.
